MUSIC THAT INSPIRES THE HEART

Caroline Waters' fourth solo album "Being Totally Alive" is a beautiful journey in a landscape of various musical expressions.

"Being Totally Alive" is the most diverse album as far as musical expressions go, stretching from jazz to classic to pop. Jazzified chamber-pop, if you like. Her previous(CD) "Venus Envy" was much more funky, according to her own description. When asked if this has anything to do with getting older - embracing adulthood, she promtly replies: Never!

Caroline emphasize that "Being Totally Alive" was created to inspire our hearts to sing with reckless abandon, to empower the child within and to embrace the magic and beauty of relationship.

This year Caroline celebrates her 40th anniversary as a singer and artist. You might think that makes her a middle aged woman, but the truth is, Caroline made her debut as a two-year-old little girl! As young as three, she played the role as Little Caroline in her dad's film version of the Crhistmas show "Putti Plutti Pott".

For kids growing up in Norway, it's almost impossible not to have had a relationship to this show and the song "Hei hå nå er det jul igjen".

Listening to her new album, we journey through 12 tracks, and with the exeption of two songs, all music and lyrics are written by Caroline herself. If you let yourself be seduced by all the pure and high quality notes on this album, you will become aware of the fact that all ages might enjoy in this production. This music is truly for all music lovers between 20 and 100.

When Caroline wrote the song "Little Girl" she got the feeling that her dad was literally singing and playing through her. The song is about appreciating the innocent powerful creativity in each and every one of us, the child within us, and about how much she values to be able to expres what's in her heart through singing. Caroline rounds up by saying that her album is a tender one, it is full o love and longing AND a celebration of life!
